This Policy describes the personal information (or personal data) we collect and process, how we use that information, our legal basis for doing so and the measures we take to protect it. It also covers whether and how that information may be shared and your rights and choices regarding the information you provide to us. We are committed to protecting personal data we process in accordance with applicable laws.
We never sell your personal data to anyone.
We change your information (de-identify), so we don’t know who you are.
We only share your de-identified information if legally required.

Who We Are
We are HealthEd for Everyone Org (HealthEd, we), an United States 501c(3) nonprofit (99-4447344). We are located at 4007 Carpenter Rd Unit 103, Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197.

What personal data we collect, when we receive it and how we use it
We never sell your personal data to anyone.
To provide you the best possible experience on our websites and deliver our services to you, we collect and process certain personal data as follows:
(a) When you contact us via our websites or directly via email — for example, when you ask for support, send us questions, comments, feedback or when you complete a survey or report a problem.
Personal data processed: any identification data (first and last name) that you choose to provide, your contact details (email address), the content of the message.
Purpose: We use this data to answer the questions we receive, to build business relationships, to analyze the types of queries we receive, to improve our customer management processes and to improve our products and services. If you do not provide your personal data, we will not be able to respond to you.
(b) When you sign up for our newsletter – we use MailChimp to collect your name if provided and email. Your personal data is processed by MailChimp according to their privacy policy and processes. You can stop getting our newsletter at anytime. To request that we delete your email and name from our list, please email us at info@HealthEd4Everyone.org.
Purpose: We use the your email and name to send you our newsletter. If you don’t provide your email, we can’t send you our newsletter.
(c) When you apply for a role advertised on our website, we will collect the following personal data: your name, email address, LinkedIn profile if provided, and any experience, skills, or message that you choose to share. Each form limits the collection of Personal Data to the strict minimum and indicates the mandatory or optional nature of responses by means of an asterisk.
Purpose: We use the personal data you provide to evaluate your application and communicate with you. If you don’t provide your personal data, we would not be able to process your application.
(d) When you apply for a role advertised on a volunteer recruitment site, e.g. Taproot, United Way, or LinkedIn, or any other similar third-party pages, your personal data is processed by the volunteer platform providers according to their privacy policies and processes. We process your personal data you provide, such as full name, email address, telephone number, and any other personal data you provide.
Purpose: We use the personal data to respond to your application, evaluate your application and communicate with you. If you don’t provide your personal data, we would not be able to process your application.
(e) When you make a donation, your personal data is processed by Donorbox providers according to their privacy policies and processes. We process your personal data you provide, such as full name, email address, donation amount, date of donation, the city where you are located, and address if provided.
Purpose: We use the personal data to track our fundraising goals, communicate with you, and analyze the donations we receive to improve our fundraising efforts.
(f) When you interact with us via social media, e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, LinkedIn, YouTube, or any other similar third-party page, your personal data is processed by the social media platform providers according to their privacy policies and processes. We process your personal data collected from social media, such as name, job title, company, and any other personal data you provide.
Purpose: We use the personal data to respond to your requests, develop a business relationship or send you direct communications (subject to prior consent requirements where applicable). If we cannot use your personal data, we would not be able to respond to your requests, establish business relationships or send you marketing materials.
(g) When you search on our site, your search is processed by SearchWP according to their privacy policies and processes. We process your search term and the date of your search.
Purpose: We use your search terms to better understand user needs and improve our content.
(h) When you visit our site, your personal data is processed by Automattic according to their privacy policies and processes. We access aggregated information such as the number of visitors to our site and number of spam messages that have been blocked. Please visit their privacy page for visitors of their user’s sites for more information.
Purpose: We use Automattic’s products for security and backing up our site (Jetpack), content management system (WordPress), and anti-spam (Askimet).
(i) Usage data – when you visit our website, we collect the following data using Matomo Analytics: the website you visited us from, the parts of our site that you visit, the date and duration of your visit, IP address that is immediately anonymized, information from the device (device type, operating system, screen resolution, language, nearest city and country you are located in, and web browser type) you used during your visit, and more. We process this usage data using Matomo Analytics.
Purpose: We process the information for statistical purposes, to improve our site and resources, and to recognize and stop any misuse.

(j) Cookies and other trackers – we use cookies (small data files transferred onto computers or devices by websites) or similar technologies to make our websites function correctly and to understand how they are used. Some of these are essential for the site to function, while others (such as those used for analytics or performance) are only used where permitted by local privacy laws. You may deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies or trackers by changing the settings of your web browser. Cookies that are already stored may be deleted at any time.
Opt-out of website tracking
You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analysing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent us from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.
Please be aware that some browsers can delete the opt-out cookie if you have not visited our website. If you are not a regular visitor to our websites and wish to opt-out of analytics use, please check the setting when you visit, to make sure the opt-out is still recognized by your browser.
How Long We Keep Personal Data
- Contact Information for newsletter, volunteer emails, etc: Retained until you request to be removed from our email list.
- Information You Share (forms, emails, etc.): Retained until you request deletion.
- Matomo Analytics data: Your personal data is stored for 3 months before automatic deletion.
