Background:

Brittany learned firsthand how misinformation shapes healthcare decisions. Even after years of working in healthcare as an EMT and Surgical/Endoscopy Technician, she held misconceptions about hospice care. It wasn’t until she joined her grandfather’s in-home hospice caregiving team that she understood what hospice really offers: comfort, dignity, and peace during a vulnerable time.

That experience changed how she talks about healthcare in her community. She now helps others understand what hospice care really is and why it matters. For her, this is part of a larger belief: everyone deserves clear, accurate health information, especially people who face challenges getting care. She volunteers her time reading to children and encouraging a love of books. Her focus on literacy and connecting with her community aligns with the organization’s pediatric book series. As president of a family-owned business, she brings skills like organizational leadership and problem-solving to the board.
